Between Lionel Messi’s fifth Ballon d’Or win and the brand’s first-ever laceless boot, it’s already been a huge year for adidasSOCCER, and now the Three Stripes continues to make waves with the news that it’s signed Paul Pogba.
According to Tribal Football, an Italian newspaper has confirmed a ten-year deal between the 22-year-old Juventus midfielder and adidas to the tune of €40 million, which is right around $44 million USD.
The site goes on to explain that prior to the deal, Pogba was one of the only top tier players in today’s game without a high profile endorsement. This extended free agency is what allowed Pogba’s agent to initiate a bidding war between adidas and Nike before settling with the Three Stripes.
