Drake’s upcoming album “Views from the 6” will be released exclusively on Apple Music.
Top artists have joined forces with the most prominent music streaming services in recent months. Rihanna and Kanye West both released their latest albums on Tidal — and Ye even kept The Life of Pablo locked on the Jay Z-helmed platform for over a month and a half. It is known that Drake has a deal with Apple Music, though the exact terms of the partnership are unknown. Last summer, it was rumored that Apple offered him an estimated $19 million. But the deal should prove to be lucrative for both parties, as Pitchfork now reports (via Apple) that Views from the 6, upon its release, will be an Apple Music exclusive.
As for how long the album will remain exclusively on Apple Music, that much is unknown. The news comes soon after Drake announced the Views release date live on tonight’s episode of OVO Sound Radio, which is still going on now (stream here). Fans have got exactly 20 days until the release of Drake’s fourth album. Better download Apple Music before April 29.
