Will Super Bowl 50 be “the last rodeo” for Peyton Manning? “I haven’t made my mind up and I don’t see myself knowing that until after the season’s over,” Manning told reporters during Media Day on Monday night. However, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos star quarterback is not only leaning towards retirement, he has informed some individuals in his inner circle of his decision. “The reality is he let the cat out of the bag a little bit,” Rapoport said. “I also know he has told close friends that he expects this to be his last game as well.”
Of course, there are probably a few factors, like a loss to the Carolina Panthers, which could persuade Manning to stay one more season. But, given everything he has gone through in his 18th year in the league, it’s hard to imagine Peyton throwing on the pads and cleats for another full season.
Right now, everything, including the retirement talk, will need to be put on the back burner for now. Peyton is entirely focused on trying to capture his second career Lombardi Trophy.
